Portable Groundwater Level Automatic Monitoring Instrument


The portable automatic groundwater level monitoring instrument WH311 is widely used in deep well groundwater level, river measurement, water conservancy, field geological exploration, environmental monitoring and other industries. It has the advantages of battery power supply and unattended continuous operation. It can continuously record changes in water level and temperature, and by setting the sampling interval, it can record from several days to several years. Its measuring range can reach 100 meters, 300 meters, or even 1000 meters, mainly based on the high-pressure and high-sealing sensor chip built in WH311, the all-welded, one-piece structure design, waterproof and anti-clogging technology, and the signal transmission uses wear-resistant and high-tensile steel wire cable to ensure that the measurement signal can be output and displayed in real time with high precision and stability.             Groundwater level and temperature measurement is particularly important for the mining industry, groundwater exploration, and hot spring water temperature and level monitoring industries. China is rich in groundwater resources, and in many areas, groundwater is the main source of water for human production and life. This requires strengthening the monitoring of deep wells to guide the rational use of water by humans. Real-time monitoring of changes in the dynamic water level in deep wells is also beneficial for earthquake monitoring, providing big data support for geological and earthquake industry monitoring. The WH311 deep well water level meter is an ultra-low power consumption, IP68 high protection level, wired communication, and multi-sensor acquisition monitoring device. It is suitable for harsh monitoring environments and can realize data acquisition, storage, alarm, and transmission of groundwater wells, fire safety, dam health, water supply and drainage networks, etc., especially suitable for underground well applications.


    System Overview  
            The WH311 groundwater level meter relies on a deep well water level sensor probe, and has the advantages of fast construction speed and real-time long-distance transmission. It integrates front-end detection and back-end real-time display, realizing groundwater level monitoring, monitoring groundwater level and temperature data. With the supporting paperless recorder, it can record data in real time, generate various reports and curves, and provide data analysis and decision-making basis for customers. This system is an important means of mastering the changes in groundwater, understanding the status of groundwater extraction, and guiding the protection of groundwater resources.

    I. Specific Requirements

           Unit: Guizhou Provincial Geological Bureau 111 Geological Team

           Operating environment: Yudongxia geothermal water extraction test, deep well depth 1000 meters, water temperature within 90℃.  
           Monitoring requirements: Real-time display of deep well water level during water extraction test to provide a basis for calculating geothermal resource extraction; automated monitoring to improve office efficiency and reduce labor input;  
                           Ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness;  
                           Ensure long-term operation under 1000 meters of water, temperature below 90℃.

     

    II. Measurement and Analysis

           Due to the particularity of deep well water level monitoring, non-contact methods such as radar level meters and ultrasonic level meters cannot effectively transmit signals, and magnetic level gauges and bubble-type level meters have depth limitations.  
           Now, the WH311 deep well probe uses the laser hydrostatic principle (laser calibration of zero point and full scale), which greatly simplifies the measurement process and reduces the cost of on-site data acquisition. The WH311 is easy to install, and installation can be completed by simply fixing the level probe 3-5 meters above the deep well pump when the pump is lowered into the well. It is suitable for deep well water level monitoring and solves the problem of deep well water level measurement difficulties. It meets user needs in the following aspects:

    The WH311 probe adopts an all-welded integral structure design, ensuring normal operation under 1000 meters of water. Each unit will undergo a 20MPa waterproof test (equivalent to 2000 meters underwater waterproof);

    Steel Wire Cable

    Signal transmission uses high-strength polyurethane steel wire cable (during placement, be sure to pay attention to the protection of the cable) to ensure real-time, high-precision, and stable output of temperature and level measurement signals;

    Protect the Deep Well Pump

    Real-time display of deep well water level and temperature, and with high and low level alarm function, it can be linked with the deep well pump to achieve low-level pump stop function, preventing the deep well pump from burning out.

    Two power supply requirements can be realized: AC 220V power supply; DC 24V outdoor portable battery;

     

           *Water extraction test monitoring equipment and transmission system requirements  
           Install one set of automatic groundwater monitoring equipment that can measure and record water level, water temperature, and other elements, and can automatically record data; the automatic recorder housing is made of stainless steel, with a simple structure and small size; the monitoring frequency is optional (1S-4 minutes), and the data storage capacity is no less than 200,000 entries; the table data can be exported directly.
